Aluminium color coating refers to adding a protective layer of paint to an exterior metal surface. PE paint or polyester paint can be used for enhanced UV protection – this has anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties as well. What’s more, effective color coating upgrades the finish of the exterior, improves the aesthetics, color coding, and provides an increase in emittance.
The paint that is applied on the aluminium coating is highly resistant to oxidation and can be exposed to various corrosive conditions without suffering damage. Apart from moisture, it also prevents the surface from general wear and tear, UV exposure, and water damage.

For example, SDP paint (Super Durable Polyester) is used for abrasion resistance and to enhance the longevity of the coating. PVDF paint (otherwise known as Polyvinylidene Fluoride or Kynar Coating) is used for heat, chemical and UV resistance.

- Corrosion resistance: Aluminum coating prevents oxidation. Being highly corrosion-resistant, the surface won't won’t rust unless it’s completely damaged. It can also withstand harsh weather conditions.
- High temperature resistance: The high reflective nature of aluminum bounces away about 80 percent of visible light and about 90 percent of radiant heat that comes into contact with its surface. It protects the base material from very high temperatures ranging up to 800 degrees Celsius (1,470 Fahrenheit). It is formulated to handle heat stress and not deform unlike some other materials.
- Lower cost: The hot dipping process of aluminum coating is more efficient and cost effective than other methods. Hence it is a very economically-viable option.
- Good formability: Painted aluminum can be fabricated into any form - bent, folded, corrugated, and rolled without the coating surface cracking or breaking. Its high yield strength makes it a very versatile option in many applications across segments.
- Heating appliances: Aluminum coating has resistance to high temperatures, making it ideal to be used in heating appliances such as ovens, heaters, kitchen ranges, boilers, incinerators, and barbeque burners.
- Cooking ware: High corrosion-resistance nature of aluminum coating prevents any rusting of the surface, making it a natural option for usage in pots and pans – which indeed need to withstand high temperatures. Aluminized appliances also transfers heat faster which helps in cooking, without affecting the flavor of food.
